Best Spots for Luxury Rentals in Mexico

November 19th, 2011 -- Posted in Villa | No Comments »

Hands down, without the shadow of a doubt, Mexico is one of the top tourist destinations on the planet – the number one destination for foreign tourists in Latin America, and second only to the US in both Americas. It ranks tenth worldwide by international tourist arrivals and 2008 alone saw 22,6 million visitors arrive to the country. There are lots of things to do in Mexico, from urban trips and explorations, to wonderfully fun times to be had at the beach, to the famed Meso-American ruins. However, if luxury rentals are what you’re looking for, then Mexico will surely excite and scare you at the same time. Why scare you, you ask? Simply because it offers such a wide array of places with superbly appointed holiday villas for rent, that making a choice between them could prove downright impossible. To this end, we’ve compiled a list of the best places for a luxury holiday in Mexico.

Acapulco
Acapulco is a city and major sea port located in the state of Guerrero. It sits on Mexico’s Pacific coast and is one of the country’s oldest and best known beach resorts. Its location makes it the ideal setting for cruising lines, as it lies right on the edge of a gorgeous semi-circular bay. The resort area of the city, which is clearly delineated from the urban area, is, in its turn, further divided into two parts: the one by the north end of the bay – the ‘traditional’ area – and the one by the south end of the bat, which is dominated by recently constructed luxury high-rise hotels. Like Cabo villas, luxury Acapulco villas range from averagely priced to high-end destinations, especially targeting the very rich and very famous. Favored areas for luxury villas in Acapulco are the Las Brisas and the Lower Las Brisas.

Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas is located at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, or the area commonly known as Baja California Sur (Lower Southern California). It’s a world-renowned, world-class scuba diving location, an ideal spot for those who can’t get enough of sandy beaches and a virtual showcase of balnearios. Amazing sea life can be experienced in the El Arco de Cabo San Lucas sea arch. It’s worth mentioning that the city, often referred to as simply Cabo, has seen rapid and massive growth owing to its flourishing tourist industry, in recent years, which, in turn, has lead many to question the impact of this move upon the environment. Cabo is ideal for luxury rentals, especially if you’re planning on a Spring Break that you and your college friends will never forget, or a wedding abroad that all those involved will remember fondly over the years.

Cancun

Cancun, located on the northeastern coast of Quintana Roo in Southern Mexico, essentially appeared as a tourism development. The city holds the UNWTO international certificate from the prestigious World Tourism Organization. Its building begun in 1974, when there wasn’t much to speak of at the site, except for a fisherman’s island surrounded by virgin forest areas and unknown shores. Today, along with Acapulco, it is the best known and most visited tourist resort in Mexico. Better known for its high-rise hotels than its holiday rental properties, there are luxury villas in Cancun that can fully match up with Cabo villas, Puerto Vallarta villas or the rental destinations on the mystical Mayan Riviera.
